The 91°µÍøÆƽâ°æ, as part of its implementation of the provisions of Education Law §3012-d regarding annual professional performance reviews (APPR) of classroom teachers and building principals, is pleased to post its lists ofÌýApproved Teacher Practice RubricsÌýandÌýApproved Principal Practice RubricsÌýthat meet the criteria established in ourÌý. This list will be updated periodically as additional applications are submitted and approved.
In choosing rubrics for use in the APPR, LEAs should note that the governing body of each school district and BOCES is responsible for ensuring that evaluators have appropriate training—including training on the application and use of the rubrics—before conducting an evaluation under §3012-d and Commissioner's regulations.Ìý The governing body is also responsible for certifying a lead evaluator as qualified before that lead evaluator conducts or completes a teacher’s or principal’s evaluation.Ìý
Some providers listed here charge a fee to license the rubric or to purchase the associated implementation support services, while others do not.Ìý Further, all providers offer a range of optional services. ÌýLEAs are encouraged to contact providers directlyÌýto discuss their specific needs in line with their APPR plan and their plans for training evaluators and certifying lead evaluators.
