School Report Cards Released For Schools And Districts Statewide
The State Education Department announced today the release of 2008 School Report Cards for all schools and districts throughout New York. The Report Cards are available on the web at泭.
Much of the data contained in the School Report Cards has already been publicly released throughout the past year, but the Report Cards represent a single place for finding all of that information. Previously released information includes:
- 2007-08 Grade 3-8 Math and English Language Arts results (released on 6/23/08);
- Graduation rates for the 2003 cohort (i.e., the group of students who entered ninth grade in September 2003);
- Schools that have failed to make Adequate Yearly Progress and that have been placed on the Schools in Need of Improvement (SINI) list;
- Schools that have been placed on the Schools Under Registration Review (SURR) list; and
- Schools districts that need intervention because of inadequate performance in meeting targets related to students with disabilities.

Data contained in the 2008 School Report Cards, but not previously released, includes:
- School and district performance on Regents Exams including, for the first time, performance on the Regents Examination in Integrated Algebra;
- Disaggregated data for the Grade 3-8 Math and English Language Arts exams;
- Grades 4 and 8 Science and grades 5 and 8 Social Studies results;
- Per pupil expenditures; and
- Average class size.
In addition to school and district information, there is also a School Report Card for the entire State.
